Like Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella

If the cellist Vincent Segal is not afraid of rain, the composer Jean-Jacques Birgé has a collection of needles. On stage everything is possible. Serious as jesters, they make us share their new Songs of Maldoror, parodying everything that falls into their hands without denying their love for the commonplaces, romanticism and naturalism, improvisation and contemporary music from all times. Birgé's desiring-machines are seduced by the lyricism and elegance of Segal's cello to build together the most human Tomorrow's Eve. The two happy young people attack acid music as a critical paraphrase of the world in which they grew up and which is nothing more than a caricature of itself. This distance creates vertigo by embodying the victory of the imaginary upon the real.
