about

Negative growth has imposed itself, even to all its detractors. Birgé has always claimed that each work requires a specific medium, and vice versa. There wasn’t really a choise anymore. Erudite music joined the art brut which finally accepted it after having relegated it to the margins of a society in collapse. The composer Antonin-Tri Hoang chose the bass clarinet to accompany someone who he had considered in his early years as his godfather. This is one of the rare recordings in which Birgé plays a plucked string instrument. A multi-instrumentist, he has sought every day to recapture the intact emotion of the first time.
